i was watching this one. i should have payed closer attention. not to the run up area in the first hour, but the retracement around 1030.

late entry, decent exit

crazy stock, i wasn't going to give it much room

1030 trades were two tight shorts against the candle high. i was late to the party. 1145 i have no idea. i was keeping it tight for a reason, i may have thought it was going to have continued upside. 2pm trade was 2 trades buy/sell, buy/sell. i was trying to catch an up move but it wasn't coming. after the next doji, i shorted it. exited early, trading from the PnL. but i am sure that wick up a few candles later would have gotten me out.

i thought it was turning over, good trade from my end. terrible exit.

shorting lows, covered because i didn't like it. but i can't be doing that.

short, good exit.

catch the pop

this is the reason why you either get stopped out or take an exit at a green candle, doji, something, anything other than just closing. again, i completely forgot the rule. i need to focus on it tomorrow. this one trade would have made up for 3 stop outs. just let it go.

oops, caught the high.

i need to remember to not close trades early. either stopped out or exit with a candle signal. i can't use momo as a reason, because i am not good enough to read proper momo yet. i think i may put on the 8 ema as well to keep me in the trend.

i feel like i traded too many different stocks today, but it was only 7 different stocks. i don't think that is too many. not much to say today. i know this morning was difficult for me, too much chop. i'm burnt. peace

i was shorting this with the rest of the market but cautious because from what i remember, it can do its own thing at anytime. guess i should have stuck around.

mmm, i thought it was going up. having a .20 stop, was no problem. the fact i doubled up, well, that is he problem. won't do that again.

bought and sold, first sale was fine it went .03 below the prior candle. the second sale was just silly. the nicest part about this trade was the fact that i also had TNA working. i like having both going, if i was losing in one i would make up in the other, at least that is what i told myself. but it doesn't work when you close your winner with less profit than your loser.

shorted after doji, good but late to the party. covered went long, but in reality, i should have stayed short because the market never went .03 over the prior candle, i.e. downtrend still in effect. then i closed out the long and went short again. covered for some okay profit but the stop should have remained up at the 62.10 level. it wasn't worth the .10 profit i locked in. silly move. the 3pm trade, i started buying it early, i believe right as the candle changed over, i thought the move would have exhausted itself. when the ticker started blinnking red again, i closed the long and shorted it. the exit was okay because i locked in decent profit, but in reality, there was nothing saying "close position" no candle formation. not even 3 big bars, only 2 okay sized bars. i closed because of nervous, anxiety and trading the PnL. i said its better to be down $40 than $80, lets take the profit. but this is not the correct way to trade. as you can see there was plenty more downside and in fact, i would have been even on the day if not profitable had i held properly. i will say, in all my screen time, i have never seen the ticker move so fast. at times you couln't even read one symbol that was scrolling through. nice doji near the end to take a long trade but i was done by this time.

dtf, there is one where the .30 moving ticker is a short, not long. i think mine is actually set to .25

no trade, just noticed it and i want to remind myself to keep an eye on FDX.

dtf, another shortable .30 scanner.

this one too. i saw it on that scan as it was popping to new highs. looks like a short all day long

shorting it, stopped out, thats fine.

-44/-68

even though i was down on the day, it felt like a great trading day. i was seeing moves correctly, staying in trades longer, and being more positive. i did get frustrated somewhere around 1230 and left the computer which is why i missed the V trade. i think the frustration was from the fact i was trading pretty well, but lost alot in TNA for no reason. stupid me. the first lot was fine, but it was silly to double my size. i lost discipline and that frustrated me. also, the QLD was up,down,up,down. i was getting annoyed.

lets see what tomorrow brings. now that i can short qld, i am going to try to focus most of my attention on it. also, i was solidly in the zone from about 1035-1220 area. it was a pretty long time for me to be so concentrated but then i lost it.

carpe diem

shorted lows. i was trying my hardest not to pay attention to the stock so i didn't close out the stop or exit early. that is why i didn't see that hammer. also, i was never in the money enough to care at that point. it wasn't worth closing the position. it retraced, and as it came back through my entry price i doubled up. closed it as the market was feeling so slow. good timing. but i believe a better exit would have been on that second green bar after the final red.

i shorted an alert i had set up for the low. i doubled up as it broke through, and then it went crazy after that. i guess it was a bull flag.

correct entry would have been as it broke previous hammer bar high. had i been short at this point, that would have been the exit, so also needs to be the entry. but, it is an okay trade. i would take it again. i am going to have the ability next week to short QLD as well, i have to pay extra, but i think it will be good for me.

i saw this low but didn't short it. i don't know why, no confidence most likely.

wow, up down,up,down,up,down. i saw that first up move but i didn't participate. the wick was too far away to put on a position, but realizing now, it would have been worth it to get short on the second red bar with a stop at the higher red bar.

set an alert at the bottom of the range. i thought i could get a jump on the fade move back to 17. didn't work out.

not much to say. i did hold some trades for longer than usual which is a positive for me. even though i thought no money could be made today, after checking another blog, i could see there was. it is amazing, every time i think there is no way you can make money, i discover i am 100% incorrect. its refreshing to see that some traders are not angry or upset at the market every day. they just exist within it. they have no reason to feel resentment or joy from the market. for them it just is.

first trade i don't remember. i think it was because the ticker was moving up quickly. the second trade i was feeling the momo slow. i accidentally got in too many shares, so that is the sell near the top. i got stopped out on the trade. i would take the trade again. there were some great signals 1240 and 2pm.

momo was slowing. the first green doji the ticker was still blinking red so i didn't believe it. the second doji, the tickers were stalled so i went for it. i bought more near the top, raised my average price more than i would like. i got scared out of the trade. had i just bought the proper amount at the right time, it would have been (hopefully ) a stress free trade. i would have shorted that 1050 candle and then gone long again after the hammer was made. some other great entry points that i was too afraid to take. no confidence. i know i can do this. i see the market correctly. and it is time to start getting paid for these moves. i need to move double my share size and not be afraid.

wow, saw all these great doji entries and exits and was too afraid to take them. every time one worked and i saw the next one i said, its not going to work this time. low and behold, i think i read the stock correctly all day long.

i saw this one popping all day. i don't really see the greatest entry just a chart for me to remember.

jeez. yesterday i said don't cancel stops, and guess what i did. in the heat of the trade, i didn't listen and closed it. unreal. this was the same stock as yesterday that dropped all day. i entered and it popped up immediately. the spread was about .05 i think, so i wasn't happy. i didn't even give myself a chance to see the previous candle high. silly trading

no idea.

new lows. again i closed it early. i really need to focus on this problem. i didn't even realize how many times i did this today. i must make it a conscious thought to close. it just happens so fast, i close the stock and thats it.

sold only because it was moving so slowly. there was no sell signal until that wicky red 1140 candle. so good entry, bad exit. plus, you could have shorted that exit candle easily.

again, i think i read the market correctly. its funny, two weeks ago, i was reading everything great. i was so confident in my trading. i was gung ho for last week. then last week came, and i did everything wrong. how humbling. now, this week again, i have been reading everything great but have not taken on any size. we will have to see what tomorrow and next week brings.

only traded tna qld, the rest are trades i should have caught. i closed the TNA because i bought it way to far away from the candle opening after the doji. TNA is a crazy stock, and it needs a tight stop or no trade at all.

i wanted to buy after the highlighted doji. i put an order at .90 but it never got hit.

wow, consolidation in the morning with a monster breakout. then a dump at the en of the day. unreal.

i wasn't very happy with this trade. this would usually be a short for me, so i was quite hesitant. the reason i went long was because the tickers keep scrolling green, albeit slower, but they were still green. i can't remember my reasoning for getting out. i hope i had a good one. i don't think i should use the reasoning "momo slowed down" because i believe that is just an excuse or another term for i was anxious. i.e. "i was feeling anxious which most likely means the momo was slowing so i closed it". in reality, i don't think i am good enough to read momo exits yet, that i why i need to exit when the candle gives me a reason, not price action or PnL.

i love that 1245 doji. but by this point i had already given up on the market. mostly it is due to boredom. it is amazing, this gig is actually very boring when you are waiting for signals and i believe that is the way it should be. i say, "i don't want to sit in this trade" and what, make $100 or $200. you know how many people who be overjoyed to be in my position. they would think i was a fool. and i agree i am. it is my job to sit and wait for a position, and then to watch it. can i tell you the two best trades i had was because i walked away from the screens. this was early on in my career, and i didn't realize i had a position or an order out there, and i left. came back some time later, and wow, i made how much? it just shows me, be patient, let the trade work.

saw this end of day

saw this during the day. i think i said this once before to myself. its only an $18, how far is it going to go. well, $1.50 dummy.

todays view of GXDX. all day i was looking at the chart above, but if you zoomed to just todays trading, it really makes that pullback and doji pop, so a much easier trade to see. it is amazing to see the a small difference in chart settings can make you trade or not.

i had a trendline alert. these alerts are hit or miss. sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. i always tell myself, set a price alert as well but i rarely do. i really must make it a point. i had that line drawn to alert me as soon as it went through. it would have been a monster trade.

saw this in the daytime, i hesitated.

i saw kind of red doji forming, and was thinking about taking it long, but i wasn't willing to give it the wiggle room it needed. it wasn't much, but AAPL like tna is a firecracker.

just positive on the day, maybe $25. but like i have said before, i don't learn anything on days like today except that i need to just let it go and trade. i hold back. i am so afraid of having a losing trade. i put on a couple green trades and my mind shuts down. the market felt choppy again to me today, but it seemed to have trended very well throughout the morning and mid afternoon. it is my job to sit here and be bored and wait for setups. that is it.

today, again, could have be phenomenal. i saw everything correctly, but didn't capitalize. putting on some green trades this week should be beneficial for my psyche but i need to make more. we will see if i step up to 200 shares tomorrow. the problem is, you put all this work into finding the right setups, letting the trade work, and you only make .50 on 100. if it was 200 shares now we are talking $100, and do it a few times a day you are making a living. trading 100 shares, its hard to make a living, but makes it easy to survive the learning curve.
