i'm going to check the rest of the past week, but part of the reason i belive i was having such a hard time was because the VXX was not in sync with the q's. see around 130, where the VXX was flat and the q's went down. you see that, and you wonder one has to be a false signal. anyway, i need to trade the chart of the etf or stock and not trade the q's through another vehicle unless...see chart below

now, the QLD is move for move. it is a 2x etf, and i will be focusing on it. unfortunetly, i can't short it, and the opposite of QLD doesn't move much, so i am going to search out another etf besides the VXX.

sweet charts, 5 min candles inside 15 minute candle

1 minute candles inside 5 minute candle

another sweet chart. the 5 on top of the 10 and 15. this is why i believe the QLD worked so well. multiple time frame confimation. hammer, doji, doji

  1. Sweet charts =)

It looks like the Download Replay Data option only works with NT servers, at least I keep getting an error saying such and such an instrument is not available on NT servers when I try to download.

Anyhoo - still messing around with it.

  2. that was the same error i was getting. i think when NT says that iqfeed provides historical data, that is just for backfilling the chart. we still need to record intraday in order to playback.

its pretty funny though,i spent yesterday just clicking the right arrow to scroll through each new 5 minute bar on QLD. i was deciding long, short, cover or flat. and when i would get it wrong i would get pissed off. wtf? i need to get past right or wrong. that is what causes emotion, and i can't believe it came out during that simulation.
